ABOUT US
The purpose of the Borinqueneers MC Motorcycle Club is to ride in honor of the contributions, achievements, and struggles of the only segregated Hispanic unit in United States military history. The 65th Infantry Regiment, with its long and honorable tradition, were a volunteer regiment dating back to the original name Porto Rico Regiment since 1898. From the vocabulary of our Taino ancestors, the word “Boricua” means BRAVE PEOPLE, and the word “Borinken” means GREAT LAND OF THE BRAVE AND NOBLE LORD. The soldiers of the 65TH infantry showed that they could befierce warriors and were given the nickname BORINQUENEERS. The noble service of the 65TH Infantry Regiment is illustrated in its regimental motto “HONOR AND FIDELITY”. We honor them by wearing their motto on our lower insignia with our state name just below.
THE HISTORY OF OUR CLUB In May 2005, the original founder, Lourdes Santiago-Perez enacted the Borinqueneers Motorcycle Club. Seeing the absence of a Hispanic Oriented Motorcycle Club that rode with pride and dedication to a just mission. The Original Borinqueneers were a group of enlisted US Army Military men from Puerto Rico who fought in Korea. Upon learning the history of the 65th Infantry Regiment, and after discovering that her Great Grandfather Nicanor Santiago enlisted in the Porto Rico Regiment in 1901, then went on to serve until 1904. Having personal tides, and great respect for these valiant men of the 65th Infantry Regiment a vision was formed. Today we ride proudly as the Borinqueneers MC LLC. The Borinqueneers MC motorcycle club are made-up of law enforcement, veterans, and is a family-oriented club. It’s original members are Lourdes “Boobie” Mondesi-Santiago (Perez) and Lizza “GI-Jane” Mondesi-Santiago.
